AIEDU Lab
Researching, designing, and evaluating AI-supported learning environments for inclusive, learner-centered education.
AIEDU Lab brings together international researchers in educational technology, learning sciences, inclusive education, and computer engineering. We study how AI can support teaching and learning across diverse educational contexts, with particular attention to learner agency, equity, and responsible design.
What We Study
AI and Inclusive Education
We examine how AI can support more inclusive and equitable learning experiences for students with diverse needs, backgrounds, and educational pathways.
Learner-Centered AI Design
We design and study AI-supported tools that foreground learner agency, reflection, self-regulated learning, and meaningful human-AI interaction.
AI, Learning Analytics, and Emerging Technologies
We investigate how learners and educators interact with AI-based systems, learning analytics, and emerging technologies in authentic educational settings.
What We Build
AIEDU Lab develops research-informed educational technologies, AI-supported learning environments, and prototype systems for studying teaching, learning, and learner support. Our development work is closely connected to empirical research, grant-funded projects, and international collaborations with educators and institutions.
Opportunities
We welcome conversations with students, educators, researchers, developers, and institutional partners interested in AI in education, inclusive learning design, educational technology, and learning analytics. Prospective collaborators are encouraged to contact us to discuss research partnerships, student opportunities, and project development.
Partnerships and Support
AIEDU Lab is a partner with the English Language Education AI Research Hub at the Education University of Hong Kong. The formation of AIEDU Lab has been generously supported by the Insight Grant and the Insight Development Grant awarded to Dr. Daniel Chang and Dr. Michael Lin by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. We gratefully acknowledge SSHRC’s support for our collaborative efforts to advance research on artificial intelligence in educational contexts.
